When you work within the amazing business culture of KW Memorial or KW Energy Corridor, you get to enjoy many perks as a real estate agent. Profit share is one of them! Under the Keller Williams model, nearly half of every Market Center’s owner profit is given to the associates who help grow the Market Center.
Profit sharing began with Gary Keller and the first Associate Leadership Council (ALC) when they reinvented KW in 1986. Keller studied other companies and realized that profit sharing was smart for everyone involved! If the agents working for the Market Centers succeeded, the Market Center would succeed. If they didn’t succeed, neither would the Market Center. It’s a team effort.
Many companies have some variety of profit sharing in place, including other real estate companies, but no other company has a system based on a Market Center’s profits. We can make it work here at KW Energy Corridor and KW Memorial because of the unique culture we have in place!
Every month, each Market Center splits its owner profit so that the owner receives roughly 52 percent of the profit, and associates who helped grow the company receive roughly 48 percent. In 2008 alone, KW Market Centers distributed more than $30 million to associates who helped grow the company!
There is a very specific system in place that distributes the money to Market Center owners and associates, and the same system is used throughout North America. The amount of money any person in the profit share system receives is passive income, with no personal risk.
Associates all over the country have shared stories on how this money has helped send their kids to college, pay medical bills, buy cars or even vacation homes! It’s extra cash that goes into your pocket, just for helping a KW Market Center succeed and be profitable.
As Mary Tennant, President and COO of KW, put it, “We are the only company out there that can reward associates for being ethical, strong agents and have it impact their financial solvency forever.”
