Although the population may be booming in the Houston, Medical Center, geographical area, that doesn’t mean the housing market necessarily is. In fact, Houston has the lowest home inventory now than it has had in the last thirteen years. More specifically, the number of available properties declined by 22%. Despite the fact over 50,000 people relocated to the area this past year and more than 120,000 jobs have been added to Houston’s employment database.

When it comes to newly built properties, homes under construction are twice the size of recently finished homes and expected to address growing demand. Houston is on track to start construction on about 28,000 properties in 2018.
