Keller Williams has set the standard for young associates in the real estate industry with the KW Young Professionals Division! This division is preparing the future leaders of KW to carry forth and preserve the company mission and culture.
This division began in 2013 when a group of ambitious young associates got together for a social gathering. The group continued to grow until it reached 1,000 members just a year later, and then became an official division of Keller Williams. The division helps young professionals network, learn and succeed as future leaders and innovators.
Here at KW Memorial and KW Energy Corridor, we’ve started our own KW Young Professionals division for young Realtors in our offices! We see it as a great way to get younger professionals involved in a way that’s fun and charitable, and at the same time, a way for them to bond and get to know each other better.
This year, we’re targeting two charitable events led by our young professionals. One will be held in the summer and one at the end of the year. We also host monthly social outings away from the office, such as lunches or happy hours. Last month, our young professionals division had lunch at a local brewery.
We also plan to host four quarterly social events aside from these lunches and happy hours. Ideas we’re throwing around include TopGolf, an Astros game, bowling or a concert. Our young professionals division can further bond, socialize and share ideas outside of the office on the division’s private Facebook group.
Thomas Miles, a KW Memorial Broker Associate who is spearheading this division, said it’s still in the early stages, but eventually, they hope to open the committee to Realtors outside of KW Memorial and KW Energy Corridor, as well as other real estate professionals, such as lenders and insurance agents.
So far, the group has hosted two meetings, with seven or eight attendees at each. The committee will only grow from here.
“It gives an opportunity to young-producing professionals to socialize with other agents who are like-minded and who want to give back to community,” Miles said.
