The Keller Williams Memorial team was working hard all weekend to help with the Hurricane Harvey relief and recovery efforts in Houston. Check out our Facebook page to see photos and videos of the clothing drive we held at our Houston Keller Williams Memorial office, and the help we provided with organizing warehouses full of donated items, and the hands-on cleaning and teardown work we provided in homes.

Keller Williams Memorial, our branch of Keller Williams, always strives to help out in the community. We’ve had a lot of fun doing so together this past week, and our hearts go out to all of you who were affected! If your home flooded and help hasn’t gotten to you yet, email  KWHoustonHurricane@gmail.com and provide your home address, homeowner phone number and name, if your home still has water in it, if your home has power, your basic needs, and what day your home is available for crews.

If you’d like to donate or volunteer your time to help with the efforts, visit www.kwrelief.org. KW Cares is working hard to help as many people as possible in the Houston community!

As of Monday afternoon, officials across the state had confirmed at least 60 deaths, which is expected to increase as water levels recede. Thousands of local residents remain in shelters, and those who were in smaller shelters have been moved to larger facilities, such as the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, which is housing more than 7,000 people!

The Texas Department of Public Safety has estimated for than 200,000 homes have been damaged and more than 13,500 destroyed. The recovery efforts could take many years, but the Houston community has come together to help each other out. It’s wonderful to see! At KW Memorial, we will continue to do our part to help as many as we can!

FEMA has published a list of rumors and scams. Check it out when you have a moment, so you don’t believe any of the rumors or fall for any of the scams circulating. If you’re not sure, or you’re looking for help, feel free to contact our team!
