Local Houston Spotlight: Spring Valley Village

Spring Valley Village is the last of the six Memorial Villages that we will feature on our blog! It was incorporated as a city in 1955 and became its own municipality, separate from the city of Houston. At this time, there were 26 residents.

Spring Valley Village now has a population of 4,013 residents! The town is 1.6 square miles in size, with approximately 1,450 homes. It is located 10 miles west of downtown Houston.

Spring Valley has its own Spring Valley Police Department, which has also grown since its first inception, which began with one Marshall. Now the department offers 24-hour protection by numerous officers, to Spring Valley and Hilshire Village. City Hall opened in 1983 and now houses city officials, the police department and a municipal court room.

Spring Valley Village has numerous family-friendly events that take place within its borders, such as the 5K Fun Run, National Night Out and Movie Night, which all took place earlier this month. It’s a great place for families, both young and old, to find that small-town community feel.

Spring Valley Village students attend school in the Spring Branch Independent School District, which includes 26 traditional elementary schools, seven regular middle schools, four traditional high schools, four special campuses and two highly innovative charter schools. Five of these schools are located within the Spring Valley Village borders.

As of the latest HAR report, there are three homes for sale in Spring Valley Village, with the average price of a home selling for $1,296,333. The average square feet of a home is 2,310, and the average rent is $5,900. Spring Valley Village is known for its quaint surroundings and luxury real estate options.
