If you work in the Texas real estate industry, you know about Mandatory Continuing Education classes, or MCE. MCE classes must be taken every two years after SAE requirements are satisfied. So every two years, licensees must complete 18 hours of MCE courses.
The 18 hours of MCE courses include Legal Update I and Legal Update II, which cover the eight legal topics required by the Act. The rest of the hours can be filled with course topics of your choosing. Aside from these hours, a broker must also attend a six-hour CE Broker Responsibility course.
These MCE classes are important, because they keep us all current on the latest real estate and legal news, which in turn, means that our business will run smoother without any hiccups. Plus, clients working with us can feel confident in our ability to help them accomplish their real estate goals, since they know that we keep up our educational continually throughout our careers.
It’s important to take these classes before your renewal application is due, otherwise you must pay a $200 CE deferral fee, or renew in INACTIVE status. If you pay the fee, you have 60 days to complete your MCE. If you don’t complete in 60 days, you also end up with an INACTIVE status, which means you have to stop working until you complete your MCE hours. As you can see, life will run much smoother and simpler if you complete the classes on time!
Lucky for you, KW Energy Corridor and KW Memorial offer these MCE classes in-house throughout the year. This means you don’t have to deal with the inconvenience of going elsewhere or of taking up your precious free time! This is just one of the many perks to working with our team.
MCE classes are just part of the training resources we provide here at KW Memorial and KW Energy Corridor! KW brings in highly qualified educators and trainers from all different industries and backgrounds, to provide education on every topic you can think of.
